Welcome to the Green Pulse Check survey!
How Well Does Your Organization’s Green DNA Measure Up?
An organization’s environmental management maturity can be viewed along a continuum from compliance to integration and, ultimately, to shaping strategy and leadership. The Green Pulse Check uses these stages of environmental management maturity as the basis for an initial diagnostic profile to support your organization’s drive to sustainability.
It assesses five (5) key management and performance capability areas, pinpointing strengths and opportunities for enhancement as an initial assessment of your organizational readiness for improving environmental performance and promoting a sustainable enterprise.
Why are we providing this survey?
This survey is designed to elicit information on the current maturity level of federal agency environmental management while providing participants with a rapid assessment of opportunities for improving environmental management capabilities to support their mission priorities and operational excellence. The trends and aggregate information gained from this diagnostic instrument will be made available to support sustainable practices and strengthened environmental performance.
Why is it important that you participate in the survey?
Individual department and agency inputs provide participants with a reference of their environmental management maturity against best-in-class practices, peer organizations, and government-wide performance. The survey will provide you with the Green Pulse Check diagnostic and insights into best practice management attributes and performance capabilities, and supports development of benchmarks to drive continual improvement in integrating sustainability considerations into government missions.
What is the value to you and your organization?
The Green Pulse Check provides a rapid yet systematic approach for assessing and developing your sustainability strategy. Because it is scalable to each level of your organization (enterprise-wide, service/bureau/subagency, and installation/facility), you can quickly determine your level of readiness and key opportunities for strengthening your environmental performance and associated value to your organization, at any management level.
The Green Pulse Check, although critical, is only the first step to formulating a sustainability strategy. Armed with this assessment, which shows an organization’s strengths, gaps, opportunities, and successes, the very difficult job of determining precisely what to focus on and how to implement it follows. That’s where the Green Enterprise Framework comes in. Put simply, the diagnostic (Pulse Check) pinpoints vulnerability and opportunity, and the treatment plan (Framework) offers the actionable roadmap for improvement.
Each phase of the Framework defines and integrates discrete work activities to build holistic solutions key to high-performing green organizations, including strategic planning, options analysis, implementation, and monitoring and reporting. See the article
